Would you really consider Chicago as one of the best cities to visit? Several people will tell you about the food it offers, the beautiful buildings, and of course the museums. I have been to Chicago quite a few times and so far it is not that great. Yea the food is good, the buildings are amazing, and the museums have various exhibits to enjoy with family or friends. However, let me tell you how these are not the best reasons to start planning a trip to the “windy city.”

Beginning with the buildings that you will like to see, the first building would be the Willis Tower. It was formerly known as the Sears Tower and it is the second tallest building in the United States. Next building in Chicago that is popular is named the John Hancock Center. This building offers a better Skydeck than the Willis Tower because it is closer to Lake Michigan. Lastly, walking on Michigan Avenue close to the Chicago River you will notice the Tribune Tower. This amazing historical landmark was rebuilt from the Chicago Fire and it is the headquarters for journalism, media, and other communication businesses. While enjoying these remarkable buildings, you can try Chicago’s best food.

The types of food that are served in Chicago are delectable. The pizzas in Chicago are made in different ways that each has their own flavor. One of my favorite places is Pequod’s Pizza and the pizzas are just made to perfection. Hot dogs are another type of food famous in Chicago. They are sold in Portillo’s, Superdawg, Jimmy’s Red Hots, and other small venues. They are made in a specific way, but most importantly, they should never be eaten with ketchup. The other type of food that you should try are the tacos. The ingredients are fresh and natural. The meat is so juicy and rich with flavor and the tortillas are handmade and so soft like a blanket. After viewing all these fantastic buildings and eating all this incredible food, it is time to visit Chicago’s well-known museums.

Chicago has various museums for art, culture, history, science, archaeology, and nature. One of the museums that has most of these characteristics in one location is the Field Museum. The exhibits consist of dinosaurs, mummies, animals and gems. The other museum that a lot of residents call their favorite is the Museum of Science and Industry. There are displays of storms, submarines, trains, climate change, new inventions, and outer space. Also, I will not forget to mention Chicago’s famous Shedd Aquarium. Filled with mass kinds of fish and lizards, it is also home to penguins and dolphins. The Caribbean Reef is my favorite because you can witness actual sharks and stingrays swimming together while surrounded by colorful and creepy-looking fish. You will not be disappointed when you visit these spectacular museums and these are just three out of dozens of museums Chicago has.

Did you know Chicago is one of the many huge cities in the United States people go to visit? Chicago has many things that make it intriguing for visitors and residents to explore. Although I never lived in Chicago, I have visited it a couple of times. Chicago has different types of food to try, it has beautiful buildings to see while walking around the city, and it has museums to visit. First, I can tell you which buildings to see, then I can tell you the different kinds of food, and last I will mention the museums Chicago has to offer.

I think the buildings you will like to see would be the historical buildings. One of these buildings is called the Clarke house which survived the famous Chicago fire and was added to the National Register of historic places. The famous Willis Tower, that was formerly known as the Sears Tower, is probably the most visited one in Chicago because it has the double glass window. The other building that survived the Chicago fire is the Water Tower and Pumping Station that was constructed in 1869 by using limestone blocks.

My favorite room that I love to spend most of my time is the living room. There is this big glass sliding door facing the backyard. At the other side is a smaller window is next to the T.V. that is set up on a small black television stand and my red couches are placed in a square pattern against the walls. The floor is light brown laminate wood and there is a wooden table in the center.

In the morning, I can hear creaking sounds from the floor and by the window. I can smell the fresh air coming from the sliding glass door. The lights and T.V. are turned off. Afternoon comes, the room is filled with loud screams of my kids running around while I watch a show. Lights are on because the room gets a tiny bit darker. Once it is time for bed, the television is turned off, the floors still creak and table is swiped clean. You can hear the wind from the small window and you can feel the cool breeze getting stronger.

While I consider many people important to me, my mom definitely is the most important person in my life. My mom has a very soft and calming voice, especially when she sings. She hugs me so tightly that I can feel her heart beat and feel her warmth. She wears a perfume that has lavender and honey mixed with berries scent. She makes the best steak seasoned with pepper, salt, and adds lime juice while it simmers in onion and garlic. My silly and wild mom always showed me no matter how old you are, you never stop having fun.
